Personal Injury claims - Whiplash
WHIPLASH Personal Injury ClaimsHave you got a headache, a pain in the neck and shoulders and maybe a little dizziness? Well you could have whiplash which is a common injury after a car accident. Whiplash injuries occur in approximately 20% of car accidents. If you are suffering from whiplash you could have a claim for compensation.
So you might be thinking yes I've got whiplash but is it really worth making a claim?
Well if you have minor whiplash injuries you could receive between £1000-£4575. For moderate whiplash injuries you could receive between £4575-£14,500 and for severe whiplash injuries you could receive between £14,500 and £86,500.
How do you know whether your injury is minor, moderate or severe?
The best thing to do is go to your GP and they will be able to tell you how severe your injuries are, the GP reports will also be used to support your claim. As a guideline if your neck hurts occasionally that would probably be classed as being minor. If however, you have memory loss, problems concentrating, and even depression these are seen as severe symptoms of whiplash. Another factor that will influence how much compensation you will receive is how long it takes you to recover from your injury. Some people can recover from whiplash injuries in a few days but some whiplash injuries can be long lasting and restrict movements for a long time which could mean taking time off work. So when deciding on how much compensation to award they will take in to consideration time off from work.
